How much is the deposit?
It’s an initial £100 deposit to secure the dates of your choice. The full cost of the holiday is then payable 6 weeks before your stay and the initial £100 turns into a refundable security deposit that is returned after your stay if everything ok with the cottage within 2 weeks of departure..
What time can I check in ?
Firstly, we want to give our cleaner as much time as possible to do the extra sanitation required at our cottages. So, we’ve had to change our check in time to 4pm. However, if the property is ready earlier, we will text you to let you know so you can get settled more quickly.
You are more than welcome to arrive before this and park up and go for a walk on the beach or find your bearings. Check out is at 10 am, please leave the cottage as you found it.
What is in the cottage?
The cottages are very well equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses and pans.
Cleaning Materials : Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, cloths, sprays and hand soap will be left for all guests to use during their stay.
Adults and children books, games, DVD’s, a games console, smart TV's are availability in both cottages.
Towels will be left for the number of guests that are booked into the cottage. Please do not use these outside the cottage.
We also provide extras such as hairdryer, clothes drier, iron and ironing board, children's step, highchair and travel cot, Please note, we do not provide a mattress or bedding for the cot.
What is included in the price?
All utilities, wi-fi, access to resort facilities - pool, gym and play area,
What time is the Swimming Pool & Gym open at the Bay and is it open all year round?
The swimming pool and gym will be open each day between 8am and 6pm,. Whilst staying at the Bay these facilities are free. Sometimes you have to book swimming, however at present they are trialing a turn up at swim so no booking required. The Bay have also put on some activities, including archery, rifle shooting and crazy carts. To keep the leisure centre from becoming overly busy, guests are encouraged to book their activities at https://bayfiley.sports-booker.com/customer/ There is a small charge for these activities.
Can children use the gym at The Bay Filey?
Children over the age of 14 can use the cardiovascular equipment once inducted as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Children over 16 can use all equipment..
Are Dogs Allowed at the Bay?
Yes we accept up to 2 well behaved dogs (maybe more please ask) at £20 per dog but we ask that they remain downstairs in Firefly and refrain from going on the furniture in both cottages. When out and about on the Bay please keep dogs on a lead. Please ensure you also clean up after your dog.
Is there parking outside my cottage?
There are lots of communal car parks at the Bay. However Kittiwake has a parking spot right outside the property. Firefly has a communal car park just around the corner, approx 10 seconds walk away.
You are able to load and unload your vehicle outside Firefly and then move your car just around the corner.
Is there is a supermarket/shop close to the Bay?
There is a shop on site next to the swimming pool that opens 8am -6pm (8am -8pm in summer) . The nearest supermarket is Co-op in Hunmanby (YO14 0JR). In addition there is a Tesco in Filey (YO14 9AH), and a Morrisons in Bridlington (YO16 4SJ). Scarborough also has lots of shops.
Can I get my shopping delivered?
Yes you can get your shop delivered to the resort. Please use post code YO14 9GL for Kittiwake and Yo14 9GE for Firefly.
Where is the nearest eatery?
In the resort centre there is the John Paul Jones pub which is open from 9am - 10pm offers a selection of breakfast, pub food and drinks.
The Four Cats eatery next door to the pub is open from 4pm -10pm for dine in /take away pizza and drinks.
There are many other places to eat in Filey and the surrounding area, some of our favourites are, Filey Bistro, the Boatshed, St Marcos, Inghams fish and chips, Monsoon Indian, and The Farrier at Cayton.
Can I get a takeaway delivered to the Bay?
Yes many takeaways in the local Filey area are used to delivering onto the Bay resort. Some of our favourites are China China, Monsoon and the Boat Shed.
